SASSA Announces July 2025 Grant Dates and New Payment Amounts…

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially released the July 2025 grant payment schedule with many beneficiary updates. Through this announcement, millions of South Africans will be able to plan their finances, while remaining updated on social support measures.

Dates of Payment for July 2025 Confirmed

SASSA has confirmed that the grant payments will proceed as per the staggered payment schedule traditionally followed to cut queues and ensure smooth operations. Payments for Older Persons’ Grants will be effected on Wednesday, 2nd July 2025, with Disability Grants following on Thursday, 3rd July; thereafter, other grants, including those for Child Support and Foster Care, will be made from Friday, 4th of July. The beneficiaries are reminded that whatever money is in their accounts is very safe, and so they do not have to rush and withdraw it immediately.

Increase in Grant Amounts for Beneficiaries

From July, the grant amounts have been increased in line with the rising cost of living. Older Persons’ and Disability Grants have therefore been set at R2,315 per month. War Veterans get R2,335, Foster Care Grants go up to R1,250, whereas Child Support and Grant-in-Aid stands at R560. The SRD grant stays at R370 per month. These adjustments are meant to offer some extra help to families facing economic hardships.

Settling Suspended or Delayed Grants

There are those whose payments may have been suspended this month as their eligibility is under review. SASSA is currently conducting investigations into the income and assets of some applicants who may or may not meet these requirements. Those concerned are encouraged to visit their nearest SASSA office or call the helpline in order to resolve the issues and present any further documentation required within the prescribed deadline.

Stay Informed and Prepared

SASSA advises all beneficiaries to keep abreast of information through official channels so as to avoid misinformation and unnecessary panic. Great importance should be attached to ensuring the personal details of beneficiaries remain up to date, including contact details and bank account numbers. This is to make payment easy this month and the next. The agency intends to pave the road to accessibility and safety for all grant recipients, while being able to provide some needed relief in these hard times.
